The launch of a new stock exchange in Rio has been well-received by financial market participants, potentially reducing transaction costs and increasing market competition beyond B3's current dominance. Approval from Central Bank and CVM is pending.
"Rio stands to benefit significantly from this project's financial market stimulation. However, it raises important legal and regulatory considerations for CVM," says Leonardo Ugatti, partner at Azeredo & Ugatti Advogados.
